When the cluster comes together, the future takes shape
Last week, almost the entire nanodiag BW network gathered in Freiburg – an event that served as a working meeting, a networking day, and a glimpse into the years ahead. The occasion was the official evaluation visit as part of the funding decision for the next three-year implementation phase of the Zukunftscluster.
At the heart of the meeting were exchange and collaboration between partners from science and industry, presentations of previous results, and plans for future projects. During poster sessions, an industry exhibition, and many lively discussions, current projects were presented, new collaborations initiated, and shared goals refined. Participants also had the opportunity to meet the partner companies that will strengthen the cluster in its second phase.
A particular highlight was the ride on the nanodiag-branded tram, which quite literally set the network in motion. Starting at the university, the route led through Freiburg’s research ecosystem and concluded at the Freiburg Innovation Centre (FRIZ). These stations vividly illustrated the innovative strength within the cluster and the close link between research and application.
What began as a formal appointment became an inspiring gathering that clearly demonstrated: nanodiag BW is a dynamic network – committed, well-connected, and ready for the next funding phase.
